Today’s #AutumnBudget makes a clear commitment to young people. It is hugely welcome to see the government’s decision to lift the two-child benefit cap, estimated to reduce the number of children living in poverty by 450,000 by 2029/30.

@sarahsmithlab.bsky.social , the Government’s champion for the opportunity mission, sets out why action is needed ahead of tomorrow’s Budget: feweek.co.uk/our-economy-...

This Budget is a real opportunity to invest in young people facing disadvantage, so every child can reach their potential.
Our economy won’t grow with 1M young NEETs left behind
This Budget must back the Youth Guarantee with real investment, or accept that wasted talent will cost us far more

🚨 Nearly one million young people are not in education, employment or training - according to figures published today.

James Toop, CEO, says, “It means futures grinding to a halt, with young people from low-income communities hardest hit, not because of a lack of talent but a lack of opportunity."

Love this. And love that it’s a @teachfirst.bsky.social ambassador leading the call for the Trustee Adult Guarantee for young men @alistrathern.bsky.social 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Sports coaches are the most trusted adults for a quarter of boys, but they and other support staff often miss out on key opportunities for training and progression

On International Men's Day, let's commit to changing that, writes @alistrathern.bsky.social
Let's empower the sports coaches who help boys feel listened to
Sports coaches are trusted adults for boys outside of their families, but many lack the support they need to carry out this vital role.

New polling of secondary pupils reveals deep anxiety about their future prospects and careers.

And those from low-income backgrounds face a double disadvantage - greater worry about what’s next and bigger barriers to getting there.

We’re proud to stand with the many organisations urging the government to scrap the two-child limit.

Right now, 4.5 million children are being denied the chance to thrive. It’s time to end the poverty holding them back from reaching their full potential.
We’ve joined 100+ others in calling for the government to fully scrap the two-child limit. Every child deserves the best start in life. By fully scrapping the two-child limit the government can deliver a decisive shift in children’s opportunities, and in the UK's potential.

Spending must be directed to the schools and teachers in low-income communities. The government’s next chance to put this right is in the budget.

Our role is to inspire and equip ambitious individuals to lead change – in their classrooms, schools and communities.

📊 Pupils growing up in the poorest areas are twice as likely to leave school without strong English and Maths GCSEs.

The challenge has never been greater.

📢 We need to rewrite the future to end educational disadvantage, so every child has the opportunity and support to flourish.
