definitely more than 4 qualify but i think these are the ones that evoke the most in me. lil extra write ups in alt text!
bea from pokémon sword holding an ultra ball. this was the first time i drew bea and felt like i drew her Correct, as much as she is my fav i do look at my older drawings of her and go "these are so wrong....". still really like the shading and lighting effects on this too, even if the background was slapdash nonsense blurred to hell lol ayumi tachibana from the famicom detective club series in a red one piece bathing suit that features diskun on it. in addition to drawing her really cute, i drew that dang cliff from the first game in the series in 30 minutes! if you look at the details maybe the brush strokes make it more obvious but i cannot believe how convincing i drew a landmark like that so quick?? also happy how relatively well this one did! i know a lot of the likes/reposts were probably just because this is a cute anime girl in a bathing suit but some of the comments were definitely people excited to see fdc fanart at all. AND who knows maybe i sold some copies of the remakes and emio off this?? anything to keep her getting new games and put into the next smash bros game 🫡 lum invader from urusei yatsura in an outfit (and the iconic eyecatching pose) from eun-bi's waterbomb performance that people were redrawing. obviously this art trend lived off Hot Woman Energy and Nice Boobs, nothing wrong with that! but i feel like i understated that aspect of the trend because when i look at this, i look at lum having a deceptively simple, cute smile. and i look at that hair. it was a real jerryrigged method of lassoing the hair as best i could and copying it to a new layer, gradient mapping it to those magenta/purples, and then soft erasing in spots to have the transition of those colors to the typical greens and blues lum usually has. i can see the mistakes and color issues elsewhere in the drawing, and even some sloppiness in that hair. but instead of having that make me lesson my opinion of this drawing over time, i'm still just as enamored with it, to the point where my more recent lum drawing feels technically better but still missing Something compared to this one. xenoblade chronicles 2 anniversary artwork featuring rex holding the third aegis sword while wearing the master driver outfit, pneuma floating and fading with a sad expression in the background, and the world tree towering above the cloud sea. i don't know how else to put it, this one is just execution on all cylinders. while i did go for a simpler rex pose compared to my initial brain thought when i came up with this months ago, the fact that from that moment i put what was in my brain onto a digital canvas feels so satisfying. this is WHY i started taking art more seriously as a hobby, my brain imagines things and i've been working away at the skill gap to make those images real. hearing a friend say "this could be a cover!" made it feel like it's actually happening. i don't know what the fuck i'm gonna do for more important xc2 anniversaries than the 8th one but i'm going to keep doing my best and improving so my dumb anime game that is my favorite game keeps getting better art out of me

i like when people take a cookie cutter and then decorate it with something very creative for that shape

so i wanted to do that with pyukumuku for this collab 🧑‍🎄🍪
