I remember when the only good film / TV adaptation of a game was Tomb Raider. People are spoiled nowadays

Season 1-2 are perfect.
Season 3 had its issues.
Season 4 they tried to make it too hype and cinematic at the cost of kind of ruining the horror in my opinion.

I'm not sure I'll watch Season 5 as some of the younger actors have said some not so great things, and the horror is ruined for me.

Having Hector realize Dracula is wrong and swap sides as a form of character growth, while Isaac keeps his plot where he realizes he wants self determination, would have been so much more interesting.
The tension between the two would have made more sense in that context.

His literal character concept is that he turned against Dracula because it was the ethical thing to do, and now you have him half betraying him because he was coerced, then feeling reaaally bad about it, and ending up being the pet of a character with the depth of a saucer.

Also it tackles themes of Man Vs Man with the rare acknowledgement that the Emishi People were a distinct culture, and to a small extent still are.
In a country where it's taboo to question a unified culture, and mention people like the Ainu and Emishi, that is a powerful thing.

It's rare to see a story tackle all three, and I didn't even cover all the ways these themes intermingle in the narrative. Most stories do one or two, maybe they try to do all three but can't do it quite right.
Princess Mononoke is what I point to when anyone asks how to write conflict.

Princess Mononoke is a great piece of writing in that it uses all 3 forms of conflict perfectly in a single story.
Man Vs Self (Ashitaka's curse, and journey)
Man Vs Nature ( Eboshi's war against Moro and San )
Man vs Man ( Jiko-bo, the treatment of the Emishi people, the soldiers fighting Eboshi)

I wish they made a Mario game for the Wii Fit board, and called it Cardio Mario
