When my sister would visit us in Germany from Alaska she’d fly right over the poles, it was just fastest. There’s something magical about the “best” routes for airplanes being weird curves.

book release days can be very anxiety inducing so I have a little tradition of going to a local bookstore, saying happy birthday to the book on the shelf and then afterwards getting a little treat and doing something unrelated and fun (video games!) for the rest of the day

I love how, in the fictional comedy chat show podcast "World Gone Wrong" (where the world is going through a Night Vale-esque apocalypse), they call the day the world ended "The Great De-Normalization." I think we should adopt that.

I borrowed "Guards! Guards!" by Terry Pratchett from a friend and have been reading it during slow periods at my temp job. It's been entertaining. Only the second Terry Pratchett book I've read so far.

Thanks to TikTok, I now know there's a German show called "Schlag den Star" (Beat the Star) where two celebrities compete against each other doing random things. This one is drag queen Olivia Jones vs. TV presenter Katja Burkard in creating a hot glue bridge. (Japan, a game show rival has emerged.)
