I think there’s often this huge mental build up to a book’s release but often not a lot actually HAPPENS on the day and it can feel very strange. So you gotta make your own little routines to celebrate and deal with it. any fellow book folks have any of their own routines or traditions to share?

book release days can be very anxiety inducing so I have a little tradition of going to a local bookstore, saying happy birthday to the book on the shelf and then afterwards getting a little treat and doing something unrelated and fun (video games!) for the rest of the day

It can be incredibly hard to see your progress when recovering from depression or burnout. The whole world keeps demanding certain benchmarks of you to the point that it’s easy to feel like a failure despite your hard work. Remember your progress is your own journey. Every win means something.

I’m at the Telling kids book Festival in Burlington today, and oh my goodness Hendrie Park is so lovely??? What a fantastic location for a kids book festival 🥹. Also got to see ALL my books at once at a bookseller 😭❤️
