My read on Kuang is she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve with her writing, which I think was more relatable in Katabasis when the author-insert was “grad school and academia are actual literal hell”.

Video is great; the amount of “you will own nothing and be happy”/great replacement conspiracy in the comments though is a bit concerning, so I do wish the politics at this point were fully explicit.

I think the big lesson for the left in general is that opportunities for anything good to happen are rare and mostly due to dumb luck so you better be ready to take advantage when they show up

This is (usually) very true in the metal scene where you can have a guy that goes by Corpsegrinder who is also known to be a great dad and all around nice guy to talk to.

Unfortunately you gotta get to act 3 to hear *why* French Boy 2 is so sad, and it does make a lot more sense at that point. I can understand why some folks bounce off the mid game though.

It’s a good time! Sometimes the meta-progression elements feel like they get a bit in the way, but if you can pull yourself away from those when you start feeling sick of it, there’s a neat little story to be had.

As someone who adored Expedition 33 start to finsh; this article is excellent. I wanted to talk so bad with folks about the game itself, but it felt so subsumed at all times by the “Absolute Cinema” meme, and a whole host of other cultural metatext burying the actual work.

The show each year is really held up by it's weird little guy sections, (Kojima, the Alan Wake 2 musical number, the It Takes 2 dev, Balatro potentially winning it all), and it really does feel like this year does not have the same juice.

I feel like of all the media types, radio/podcasts are the most personality driven, and least content-dependent, so heck of a leap to try and replace the traditional model with the exact opposite of what everyone wants.

This absolutely gonna friendly fire people wanting to work in cybersecurity too; I’ve seen plenty of teams with “safety” in the name, and there’s a 0% chance these goons are gonna be able to parse the difference.
