i know we're all busy but i just overheard a plumber say "parlez-vous français ? non ? you motherfuckers don't even speak french, do you" to a pair of french bulldogs

there's definitely things I've thought about saying on here abt former employers because this account is disconnected from my other social media and so they'd be less doxxy but it's probably not worth it. oh well

it feels bad that most of the discourse about the reddit delivery app post being fake is focused on detecting whether or not documents were made with AI and not the implausibility of some of the claims as well as the supporting documents

The E3 2005 build of Shadow The Hedgehog was released earlier this month, containing unused voice lines that contained more adult language.

One step closer to hearing Jason Griffith dropping the mother of all F-Bombs as Shadow.

i'm grateful that my source of income does not in any way require me to be an Online Personality

a rule I try hard to follow is that if someone is being yelled at online, there is no point in joining in

i hate that feeling where I see someone's username and go "ugh, it's this person" but I have no clue *why* I find them annoying because it means I have no way of double checking my instinctual reaction

there is so much bad gender discourse out there

sometimes when people try to do this fine grained division of "AI" vs "ML" vs etc. it feels like people trying to say that a machine is a computer (good, moral) when it's doing weather simulation but a "number manipulator" (bad, immoral) when it's doing prison surveillance camera monitoring

thinking about it the "this is why we need humanities in school!" argument being applied to software devs is extra weird because software engineering is a field where you can do great without any college education

CHOTINER: and when you're in water you

PARTICLE MAN: don't get wet, that's right.

CHOTINER: And this is because

PARTICLE MAN: the water gets me instead. It becomes particle-manish

CHOTINER: There's been some debate on this point. Triangle Man, for example

PARTICLE MAN: I think we're done here

my synthesis of bsky education discourse is that we need more classes on ethics in stem majors but it's okay if they cheat on them because degrees are just gatekeeping

I have engaged in morally unvirtuous action (yelling at someone in their mentions), but at least I recognize that them blocking me as a result is a fair action on their part

i have very little patience for people using gender to score points in the AI discourse tbh

the time available to a human is bounded above by 120 years. therefore anything humans can do is O(1). this computational complexity shit is easy
December 22, 2025 at 5:50 PM
oh good I'm not the only one that looked at that Iris van Rooij paper and thought "wait, wouldn't this prove that humans can solve NP-hard problems?"
