The food vendors were out In Force today at Gemini Street in #Camarillo. Bacon wrapped hotdogs, a guy doing roasted almonds and kettle corn, people selling snacks from their driveway, two other hot dog carts, Mr. Softee's.

Every afternoon, when school was over, he'd rush home and slip his copy of Korn's Life Is Peachy into his mom's hi-fi system. The album had come out in the Australian spring of 1996, and it electrified Parker when he heard it at a friend's house. He would crank the volume as loud as it would go and let those songs"Good God," “No Place to Hide," “A.D.I.D.A.S. bludgeoning and belligerent all, but intricate, too -pulverize him for three hours, turning it off just before his mom, Rosalind, arrived home at six. At night, he would sit in his bedroom, listening to the Smashing Pumpkins.
