I haven’t seen that in many years, but I remember enjoying it. I remember John Gielgud saying that one of the other characters spoke “a kind of English. I think he learned it in a place called Chicago.”

None of the Branagh Poirot films are great, but this may be the weakest. David Suchet gives by far the best performance as Poirot, although the writing on those adaptations is not always good.

It’s not a good movie to be sure, but it doesn’t descend anywhere near the depths of the Ustinov-as-Poirot oeuvre.

She sits with her feet up rather than playing blind-man's buff, and also when Scrooge first arrives and Fred is checking to make sure the table is set properly. I think we are meant to infer that her condition is delicate, which would mean either pregnant or sick.
