Well, it made me laugh.
When we left town a week ago I had one ripe, yellow banana. I put it in the fridge. This morning I took it out. It was ugly and black skinned, but when it came to room temperature it was perfect inside. You can hold bananas in the refrigerator when they are perfectly ripe.
