This experience is based off on me immigrating to Wales though and only seeing a little of England, so I don't know if it's as applicable to where you are.

Coke still has real sugar in it. They are one of the only companies that didn't pivot to artifical sweeteners for the standard. You can also go into corner stores and sometimes find some sections where they sell American oe Jamaican versions of soda with sugar in it. American candy shops too.
