Fucked up in that, it's going to destroy the environment, it's going to fracture society, it's the single, greatest opportunity for bad actors to do bad things and it's going to be used to kill so many people. We're not in a good place right now and AI will make it so much worse

Yeah, like "AI Horde", it would need to be more massive though. There may be ways around the limitations, getting people to cooperate and play nice with each other will likely be a bigger issue

Yeah, you're right about it being consumption. It isn't passive consumption though, so a little better than watching Netflix. I believe that we'd be better off without the consumer version of AI, and with complete regulation of it's other uses, but it seems we're losing that fight.

That's not true, I use it for coding mostly and even though I am a software engineer I never enjoyed writing code, particular UIs. I did enjoy debugging and improving code though and Gemini gives me lots of opportunities to do that. I also review all the code it creates.

We all have addiction problems. Best to get addicted to things that don't harm you or even do you good!

I'd say, expect a democratic election and fight tooth and nail for it.
