(I am German and, while that is not my fav topic, recent events have caused me to study history in more detail. Lots of history. Am still searching for the lesson - I mean, I've never voted for either of them)

Try beautiful napkins - okay, they are small, but soft and easily plyable.
They are inexpensive, and there are so many beautiful ones available - and if you do not need any more wrapping paper, you can still use them as napkins.
