I've climbed 9% of the mountains in Colorado and I've transed 100% of my gender
I used to do like 99% bouldering but then my gf and I started top roping and it's basically all we do now.

Less impact on your knees, less injury prone, more time on the wall, and you can replicate the difficulty of bouldering by trying routes that are too hard to send but have doable moves

Which specific left wing views do you think lead to worse science?

Which specific right wing views do you think would lead to better science?

Bad, obviously. I'm not the one dodging questions here. The fact that conservative policy is anti-trans is a baseline assumption of this discussion. How do you reckon with the fact that defending an anti-trans Democrat weakens the chances of defeating Trump?

When was the last time you read anything longer than a bluesky post? Are you capable of having multiple ideas in your head at the same time?
February 13, 2026 at 7:15 PM
Did you read the post? The election isn't tomorrow. Newsom is not inevitable. If you are so worried about losing trans people's votes then you should also oppose newsom.

Nominating an anti trans candidate will lose some amount of trans votes, no matter how hard you argue on the Internet.

Do you have any of these that don't make noises when you hang off them?

You can build a good amount of finger strength with sub-bodyweight hangs

Exclusion from sports is a tool used to get misgendering defined into law. It's not some trivial issue. Sports are not a big deal, but having a legal precedent calling trans women "biological males" is a huge deal. It's a basis for future oppression.

(well actually most of the time we use all the Colorado's water so not much actually goes into the ocean)

It's steep if you consider a skill (y) vs. performance (x) graph. In order to go from no trad climbing to a little trad climbing you need to learn a lot

Trad climbing is so cool, feels like such a steep learning curve though

Maybe I'm just getting caught up on the act of paying money, like are you using a more expansive definition of "pay"?

I think some things are devalued by paying for them with money, or having a sort of cost associated with them.

I mean that's by definition true for value in a market, but I feel like this way of thinking about value defines all other aspects of society and life out of existence. Can all value really be quantified though its value in a market? How much would you pay for a hug from your mother?
February 1, 2026 at 4:44 PM
This isn't really an "explanation" of trans people, it's a "scientist" info-dumping their own personal model of transphobia and trans fetishization onto a potential funding source

Are you suggesting that healthcare professionals should not be paid?
