Lari White at least had the excuse of pre-dating Dann Huff's descent into bombast.

Also, that album has "Take Me", which I freaking love.

Dann Huff wasn't bad at first, but he started letting the bombast loose as early as "I'm Already There" despite some good moments in between (e.g., SHeDAISY)

And let's not forget Dann Huff was responsible for some of Rascal Flatts' worst, like "Take Me There", "Summer Nights", and "Bob That Head"

I think it was due in part to overly bombastic producers rising to prominence. First Dann Huff, then Frank Liddell, then Joey Moi.

It's weird. It's a boyfriend-country song that's a duet between two men, one of whom is some no-name YouTube musician. Least logical choice for a duet I've heard in my life.

Also, despite having only like three instruments, the song is mixed like shit. My radio vibrated every time that chorus hit.

There is a lot of clipping that makes everything sound crunchy. That’s common with Frank Liddell.

The guitar before the “really sinks in” verse is so overly processed that I can’t even hear individual notes, just a screaming mess.

My sister was a huge fan, but swore off them for good after that.

WATZ in Alpena used to have a DJ who would play it as a joke, usually after telling a mildly NSFW news story he found online.
