You should find out who the people are that Vladyslav Heraskevych chose to commemorate. Some of them were children.

There was no political message on his helmet other than that these people mattered. Apparently that’s too much for the IOC. Or maybe that it wasn’t designed by Leni Riefenstahl.
Who is on helmet that led to Ukrainian athlete's disqualification from Winter Olympics?
Vladyslav Heraskevych's helmet depicts fellow athletes who have been killed since Russia's full-scale invasion of his country.

And as often, @wilwheaton.net expresses well how I feel about it: bsky.app/profile/wilw...
This contextualizes the wailing of mediocre men when a new generation of authors emerged and said this shit was not okay, ever, and we will hold you accountable for it.

There is a woman who never wrote, because she felt unwelcome, and I know she had something important to say. That makes me sad.

Heresy!

I need evidence. Mind bringing some back to Seattle? For…uhm… research purposes.

Love your family. But healthy loves comes with boundaries. Your Trump voting family members are most likely indoctrinated.

If they love you back they will accept your boundaries. And if they don’t, well, then your refusal to be with them isn’t rooted in politics after all.

And I don’t think it’s helpful to immerse yourself in propaganda as part of a social event. I know myself well enough that I’m not gonna watch it in silence. I’ll challenge it and I’ll likely end up in arguments with people whose minds I’m nothing change by telling them.

On the one hand, I believe it’s wrong to cut ties with family members because of their politics. The only way to reduce the polarization and the us-vs-them mentality is to broaden your social circle.

At the same time, not attending certain events isn’t cutting ties though.

We could ask her to not watch it. I don’t think that’s helpful. Ultimately it’s their house. If they want to watch it, that’s fine by me. They can decide if they rather have us there of if they rather want to watch it. It’s OK to disagree. Not everyone needs to attend the same events.

It is but I’d argue it’s worth it because it’s used a lot and the current way is clunky.

One of my favorite memories of her comedic gift

That’s not bad actually. It would help tremendously with all the other methods like Contains, StartsWith etc.

I’d agree with that

If you like the joke, thank @kfaithw99.bsky.social.

If you don’t, it’s my fault for posting it.

@dhowett.mas.to.ap.brid.gy saw your comment.

To be clear, Equals() and == for string are already ordinal (AFAIK since ever).

Why do you think omitting ordinal from EqualsIgnoreCase would be a foot gun?
