Went to the movies today for the first time in a while. Saw “Eternity” with Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller & Callum Turner. Girl. I almost cried at least 10x, & laughed a whole lot more than that. 😂 Give yourself a break from the madness & see it if you can. The crazy will still be here tomorrow. 💙

We cannot allow complacency to rule the day in the mid-terms. There are NOT good people on both sides. This is not GOP vs Dem. This is our Constitution vs a despot. We must mobilize everyone to vote. Red, blue, purple, green, whatever, idc. Not voting is a vote for authoritarianism. 2/2.

Now that the truth is coming to light about pro-admin social media accounts being run by foreign interests, (like we didn’t know) we must remember a critical aspect of the 2024 elections: even without any voting shenanigans, almost 1/3 of eligible voters didn’t vote because “both parties suck.” 1/2

Violence should never be tolerated, nor threats. You can’t pick & choose a moral ground: it’s wrong when it’s against someone you agree with & when it’s someone you don’t. That’s America, folks- we debate with words & ideas & (god forbid) pineapple on our pizza. But never the blood of our own. 2/2

If you haven’t had a chance yet, take some time to watch “The American Revolution” on pbs.org. Always a favorite topic of mine (I grew up near many battle sites & god bless my teachers who dragged a load of shitty kids to them so we’d learn important history) but my god, what a timely presentation.

this morning, ICE went into a Spanish language immersion daycare and took a teacher from the building in front of screaming and crying kids and parents at dropoff and the daycare had to shut down for the day (near Lane Tech, where they were yesterday). Really hoping today's "theme" is not "daycare."
