Wondering leads to wandering and I am exceptionally curious...

Should note that all photos are mine, unless otherwise indicated in the post...
Books read in Oct/first week in Nov. Second read. They are silly at times and the author doesn't really know how swords work (aggravating). But they have some favorite tropes, and characters I resonate with and enjoy. They demand little and visiting the world feels comfy. Some months need this...

M had to go to California at the beginning of October. It was last minute and unplanned, but happened to be when some of the BG3 actors were signing at Funko.

This man took the red eye, went straight from the airport to Funko, stood in line, and got Pops signed on my behalf. I felt so loved.

One of my favorite photos, of those I've taken.

Location: Somewhere near Busan, South Korea (I'd probably know if I looked it up on a map...)

Pumpkin display at Times Supermarket because Hawaiʻi may not have an autumn with the leaves and the scarves and the cozy, but damn it, we will at least have pumpkins! And skeletons. We *will* have pumpkins and skeletons!

Oh, boo! I'm sorry you're having to deal with such a junk day!

Here's a rainbow to help brighten it a bit? And here's to something good coming along soon to splatter the ick away! 🩷

A little bit of...what would I even call this one? Little bit silly, little bit horror, all kine fun? 🤔☺️

I am especially drawn to the interesting opposition of ominous and playful...

Another one from the Kaka'ako area.

In Kaka'ako, this mural documents racial tragedy that happened in the US in summer 2020, interwoven with nature and messages of hope. Impossible to fully capture in photographs. Incredibly poignant...

From what I saw up close, I believe the artist is Storkeeperbme (but I'm not sure).

Something about feeling like part of a community, esp one as kind as the Minkies, makes me feel just that much better about stepping outside of my comfort zone.

Thanks @squishylovemuppet.bsky.social 🥰

M and I have dinner at Hy's Steakhouse every wedding anniversary divisible by 5. So tonight we had steak!

We met playing World of Warcraft. M was a Dwarf Hunter (and a Dwarf Cleric), I was a Draenei Paladin.

We both laughed looking at our drinks at dinner--the tall Draenei and short Dwarf... 😆

What a pleasant way to welcome in the morning!

I couldn't quite capture it, being in the passenger seat of our car and in transit, but we could clearly see the end of the rainbow.

No chance for the pot of gold, though. The rainbow ended in the canal. Clever leprechaun...

Telling the boys my work friends thought the insect phone case was more like me...

L: That one may be more you, but the goose one is more your insides.
T: What does that mean?
L: Who you really are, on the inside.
T: And what is that?
L: A goofy goober

I woke up to a gloriously gloomy sky and real rain! Ah, my heart! And then the sun decided to troll me. Can't we just have one full day of cozy gloom?!

I've got three books on order (old favorites, as I re-build my library), but they haven't yet arrived. So I'm melting into another old favorite until they do.

The world is bananas, so comfort books and visiting with favorite characters it is for awhile...

It's still National Coffee Day in Hawaiʻi for another hour and 10 minutes...

Left: Very cute The Robin Cafe, in Richmond, England. First coffee stop in England and first time to try Square Mile Coffee! So good!

Right: Plantoem in Honolulu. Today's coffee and writing. Osmanthus Cappuccino. Yum!

A new phone, grudgingly purchased, has meant trying to handle some 30k photos that were on the old phone. But in doing so, I found some sweet nostalgia...

This photo, scanned from a physical copy (!), is from a trip to St. Louis, Senegal 🇸🇳, when I lived in Dakar for 3 months way back in 2002...

The sky looked particularly fun and interesting this morning.

Coming from Southern California, where it is a flat, cloudless, boring blue, I've always loved gazing at the Hawaiʻi sky. It feels closer, somehow. Or as M teases me, it's dimensional!

Well, it is...
