Books read in Oct/first week in Nov. Second read. They are silly at times and the author doesn't really know how swords work (aggravating). But they have some favorite tropes, and characters I resonate with and enjoy. They demand little and visiting the world feels comfy. Some months need this...

M had to go to California at the beginning of October. It was last minute and unplanned, but happened to be when some of the BG3 actors were signing at Funko.

This man took the red eye, went straight from the airport to Funko, stood in line, and got Pops signed on my behalf. I felt so loved.

My sojourn in the liminal space between jobs is ending, but I've learned an interesting tidbit about myself.

Given the time and freedom to follow my whims, I am happiest with coffee and dreaming. Reading and mucking about with my own hesitant, genre-challenged writing.

When I visited London, I bought a little crochet what-I-now-know-is-a Robin at a café called The Robin Cafe (I know, I should have known 🙃).

But it was @mark-s2436.bsky.social photographs that brought the lightbulb moment. His photos of these little guys always make me smile. ☺️

When the world feels mundane, living out stories in my head gives me the motivation to keep going. I passed HS geometry by pretending I was actually attending Starfleet Academy, for instance. I'm starting a new job and will need motivation.
