A friend of mine was diagnosed autistic in Year 1 in late 90s. His parents were told he'd be lucky to scrape a couple of GCSEs. He now has a degree, a good job, his own home and a partner. Diagnosis is nothing without support.

English lit. The teacher was a narrow minded sadist but the effect of this was to bond us all together, especially at A Level. I got an A despite, not because of, her.
