I feel we tiered electricity rates. A low rate for stuff like hospitals (also could be the rate people getting energy subsidies use). A normal residential rate. A normal business rate. And like a high excessive business rate for data centers and such (things that are not necessary and use a lot)

I was replaying HK recently and was just thinking “It is strange the game both has the ability to parry while having it both connect to any other systems (like no charms built around it or special nail art). Parries are just a thing that happens.

I wouldn’t mind a Stewart presidency in normal times. He would have been viable in 2012 (if Obama dropped for some reason) or 2016.
But agreed, in 2028 we need someone with a lot more political power and knows how to get things done.

I’m also always surprised by this. I suppose it’s cyclical. The group not understanding the young people always thinks it’s novel because it’s new/different to them. But when they were the younger generation they could tell the hand-wringing was BS.

“Originalists” exclusively pick and choose what ideas from the founding fathers are useful and which don’t count. That’s why it’s illegitimate. I can say and justify whatever I want because at least one founding father said something at least once vaguely in support. Instead of arguing on merits

It’s always so sad to think about the different timeline we could easily have been in.
A second Biden term where he misses every day of work would have not only been better than this, and not in some vague way in every conceivable metric.

Originalism annoys me so much because it has an air of legitimacy. It’s like in literature debated about the reader’s understanding vs authorial intent.
But in reality it’s just a label to interpret laws however you want but couch it in some unverifiable philosophy rather than logic or reality.

I love how in their world democrats are stealing elections but also lost the presidency and don’t have a majority in either half of Congress. All the risks of election fraud without the payoff of power.
