Opinionated but interested in other opinionated people.

Clinical researcher. Mother. SEND advocate. Wine drinker. Church of England. Slow Runner. Sport watcher, not do-er. Lists in no particular order.
Also I HATE the EHCP ‘golden ticket’ trope. Our EHCP journey was a battle but absolutely necessary. I would give my right arm if it meant our daughter didn’t need this support. These are children not £ signs on a spreadsheet

Don’t forget, they had 14 years to come up with this bullshit.

I’m so, so disappointed in the Labour Party right now.

It’s so frustrating- they had 14 years to plan and got elected on a platform of ‘change’ - i wanted wholesale system reform, they seem bent on retaining the status quo.
I hate Trump, but he has a (grotesque) vision and a plan to enact it. Labour have neither and it’s pretty close to unforgivable.

Not sure clapping is an often a response to a sermon (as a committed church goer) but most would at least mutter a ‘amen’ to what she said. Trump and Vance with one look were more honest in this moment than the last 8 years

Only real thing I took away from it was that he says the word ‘British’ weirdly and it’s annoying

The whole thing had a distinct ‘should have been an email’ vibe to it. Average voters don’t care about speeches. We all know what’s broken. Just get on and fix it.

They’ve had 14 years to prep for this and it’s feeling like a shambles. Edging close to unforgivable.

And - we got a space. We’re the lucky ones.

The system is letting down the most vulnerable children and the most vulnerable families in the country.

I am yet to hear of A SINGLE good experience (please, please please share if you have!)

Scrap this nonsense now.

At every step we had to fight. Fight the school. Fight the council. Fight the GP. Fight CAMHS.
I lodged appeals, complaints, got legal advice, consulted friends, charities, took courses, read for hundreds of hours.

All while parenting and working full time.

We are exhausted.

In that year our daughter could not attend school. She needed social support and she was terribly let down. My husband had to cut his work hours. I had to combine working from home with home schooling (remember lockdown??!)

My husband’s response to the prices was ‘how much for a tent we can’t take away??!’ 😂

I know he’s not LBC any more (😭) but has Theo Underwood made it over yet?

I’m personally disappointed your first post here wasn’t a book plug
