Historically, we had close proximity with those that disagree with us, both literally and figuratively. The result was an enriching experience that created people who could draw in others from all walks of life. People who could argue and walk away dignified. People who could come to agreements.

A real tragedy, to me, is that the "next Einstein" has a higher chance of starving to death somewhere in Africa or dying in someone else's senseless war than reaching their full potential on this planet.
