Fascinating work here tracing how the IDF recycled 3D assets from a cyberpunk sci-fi art project, the Scottish Maritime Museum and elsewhere to populate its widely-seen models of supposed enemy locations in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. One of the most infamous, the alleged underground Hamas command center at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, used to justify an unprecedented assault on the biggest medical center in Gaza, was actually an animation the IDF had used the previous year, saying at the time it was a tunnel beneath a UN school.

What we have now is not good, but that does not mean that an utterly corrupt and incompetent Labour government is going to bring in the magic perfect system that only exists in your head as a result of their plans to bring in massive data scraping for overtly racist reasons.

No, I think Reform would do an equally shit job, but “Reform might possibly do it five years from now” (not definitely, they oppose the proposal) isn’t a reason for me to support Labour doing an obviously bad thing.

Everything Labour do is justified by the claim that if they don’t do it, Reform will do exactly the same thing. I have no interest in Labour being the ones to profit off this obviously terrible idea.

I understand it well enough to know there’s no magic implementation you can put in to avoid all the obvious dangers, and that Labour have neither the desire nor the competence to manage one even if it existed. They’re going to sell everyone’s personal data to the highest bidder, just like the OSA.
