I realized that. Not quite sure how to walk back the disrespect. Thinking about memory in this way helps to strip moral value away from the incapacity for recall. Unsolicited CBT advice ultimately leads to condescension and dismissal. My mistake.

But bones aren't a fiction. Memory is a reconstruction of events from loose sensory data and reasoning skills. Neither of which are 1:1 reflections of reality. I am sorry for the callous.

But if she already likes math, then I think maybe she cant work through problems as easily because she might get stuck on trivial calculations, which are simply addressed by rote. Youre not wrong, but adult education is different from how we learned when we were young.
