He says that if you can’t get 100 people to test your game then you have bigger problems, which is reasonable, but then he describes multiple rounds of playtests and recommends a whole new crowd each time. If the average dev had that many fans at their disposal we wouldn’t be struggling so badly

Players don't know what they want, are wrong about everything, and my main goal as a designer is to make them feel as bad as possible.
None of that would be possible without paying careful attention to their wants and needs to ensure my work disregards them as utterly and painfully as I can manage.

I’ve been thinking about this the last few days and I think you’ve made this click for me.
I rejected AI because I thought the creative process is where the idea in your head gets good, but you’ve made me realize the idea isn’t art at all and the process is the true substance of the art.

So real. Usually when a reveal trailer switches to gameplay montage the music gets a little more generic and backgroundy, the kinetic vocals this used instead were so good

The temptation to sacrifice integrity for more profit has always been there, I think the vibes are off because nowadays people fear that sacrificing integrity is the only way to succeed at all

We know that so many decent games fail on Steam because they’re in unwanted genres. This pushes devs towards roguelike skinner boxes. They’re easier to make, much higher potential success, and if you fail at least you didn’t waste 7 years on a high effort flop.

I think it’s because Balatro / Vampire Survivors are so popular but also pretty easy to make. They lead a genre that keeps producing big hits from solo devs, which distorts online gamedev culture.

Does it have / can you recreate Procreate’s two finger tap to undo?
I tried mirroring my PC screen to my iPad for Blender texture painting, but found myself really missing touch based controls I’m used to for drawing on the iPad
