(Note - he's 19, never held a uk passport, always travelled on his Swedish passport before, didn't even realise he was officially british until i told him when i heard about this a few weeks ago)

I'm not even too bothered about myself. Getting a UK passport for my son just so he can go to the uk if he wants to, despite being born and raised abroad, seems idiotic though.

That would be the simple fix. Let dual citizens have a box they can tick on an ETA "yes, I'm British, but travelling on passport X" and it's fine.

It's been done by beureaucrats who haven't thought about corner cases. I had the same trying to get my education recognised over here so it's not a British thing, even if I suspect it's intended as something to feed the Faragist mob. They write rules and don't run it through potential scenarios.

120 pounds i just paid.
And 14 pounds a year is still twice what simply allowing dual cituzens to apply for the new electronic visas cost.

And it's per person. That adds up to a hefty amount of money, even if you can afford it.

Can I blame Guy, on principle?

Not just that, my son - born and raised in Sweden - now needs a second passport solely for travelling to Britain, because he's officially British despite never having lived there. It's ridiculous. This affects thousands...

Yep. Brewdog were pretty much first, but then every man and his dog was making a craft IPA in their shed and trying to find a decent beer was impossible.

5am saint was an amazing non-grapefruity beer, but i think they stopped making it quite early. When they wanted to step away from yet more ipa they were good too. Just seemed rare.

Spot on. When Punk first came out I had never tasted anything like it. It was exciting. They made funny youtube clips. They did daft stuff like Tactical Nuclear Penguin. They did the stupidly strong thing. 5am Saint was an AMAZING beer.
Then they fell for their own hype, Punk clones appeared...

Oh I feel these. Anxiety through the roof all weekend, messed up sleep patterns, general midlife crisis...
You and the rest of LRR are a great support when I'm struggling.

I'm never sure what my culture even is.
Do I say Southern English for where I grew up?
Scottish for where my soul always felt most at home, thanks to my Grandparents, and where I was at university?
Swedish, seeing as it's been my home more than half my life?
James MacAnders then?
