I’ve had some crypto for about ten years now. I made a very modest investment & it produced a profit, so I took out my initial investments and let the rest ride. I cash out for a little treat every so often, and yesterday I saw that C o i n base had added sports betting. EVERYTHING is a scam, man.

I finally got around to finishing The Book of Tea. It was fantastic, and I found myself genuinely laughing out loud. Kazuko Okakura’s voice comes through like the guy’s right there talking to you. I was expecting more sterility or austerity, but it was very natural, insightful, and funny.

I found these gems hanging out together in a shoebox yesterday. Pretty sure I got those shoes in 7th or 8th grade.

I played through easy & normal of Sin & Punishment. I’d been meaning to play through it for … 25 years?! Damn.

I played through 54 games in 2025. That number was bolstered by my return to the shooter (STG) genre, but still, I played through plenty of games. Most were actually on Mister. Too many to fit in a single post.

I woke up this morning to a bit of snow that needed shoveling and found footprints from some visitors. I see all sorts of animals, but the snow reveals even more running around in space I’d never expect.

I’m reading a new book now, but I probably won’t finish this year. Babel was probably the strongest book of the year for me. Props to @katch.bsky.social for the recommendation on that one. It’s a little weird how they show so many covers from one series rather than spread it out.

That’s Policenauts done. Definitely worth experiencing. Strong story. Good translation. Lethal Weapon in Space! Of course, it’s a Kojima story, so it’s got lots of odd pervy detours, but yeah, it’s a Kojima game, so it’s also a really good yarn peppered with surprisingly Nostradamic predictions.

I can’t get accurate time logs anymore because I’m old and I fall asleep while playing. I saved my game after waking up on the couch at 10:45, so I probably slept for about an hour and a half with the game running before saving and actually going to bed.

I’m giving KMFDM’s Oubliette another shot, but it’s jarring to me how much it sounds like a Sonic Adventure song. Maybe it’s just the instrumentation at the beginning really, but still …
