In much the same way, I've no problem with someone who posts with Australian levels of profanity, but I might struggle to know when they're genuinely upset.

I've read writers who could stand to use italics a touch more often.

I've also read writers who italicise so often that it tells me nothing.

I'm not sure that the former outnumber the latter.
