The richest family in the United States, the Waltons, made money by not paying Walmart employees enough. This forced employees to seek government assistance for food and healthcare.

I was fortunate to be Medicare age, and signed up, so I only had to pay COBRA for one month. I have still not been able to go back to work though. Maybe August, if all goes well.

I was able bodied, working at least 40 hours until last year when I was diagnosed with lymphoma. I used all my time off, and time off that was donated to me, and had no choice but to go on disability. After 6 months I was required to do COBRA, which is unbelievably expensive.

We know that there are providers who commit fraud and abuse (ahem. Rick Scott). I wish there was more information given to taxpayers about how much WFA is truly out there, what safeguards are currently in place, and how much is from providers vs recipients.

I've been on chemo, and between that and the lupus, I'm now dealing with heart failure as well.

I am almost 67, and was diagnosed with lupus years ago. I've had moderate cardiac valve calcification for some time, and last year had a stent placed for a clogged artery. My cholesterol has always been good.
