See also the drop-off in apprenticeships for 16-18 year olds in general since 2018/19, and the subsequent proliferation of business and management level apprenticeships at Level 6 and 7 for people already in work who, frankly, don't really need them. Guess who was in charge?

(For the avoidance of doubt, making lots of GCSEs exercises in remembering vast volumes of information/making schools drop vocational quals and teach all GCSEs/lionising schools with hideous behaviour management schemes like Michaela are all key drivers of the outcomes they write about here imo)

I do wonder whether Public First co-founders Rachel Wolf and James Frayne, who both worked for Gove in the DfE in the early 2010s, might be able to clarify why kids feel more disengaged from school and the national curriculum...?
