I go to theaters like straight people go to church
if you change your mind, my husband and I host an open continental breakfast out of our hotel room at main on Friday and Saturday mornings that draws a decent, friendly crowd to meet folks. we also throw parties every night intentionally designed to be less intense than more popular offerings

I'd recommend Last Year at Marienbad, which while confusing and not easy to grasp, is still an engaging watch and one of the main influences of Kubrick's The Shining in terms of its nonlinearity, experimentalism and dreamlike quality. if you've seen The Shining you'll be floored by the similarities

I feel like kids would be more enthusiastic for stories about characters they can relate to. no 15 year old is going to care about Nick Carraway. they're more likely to relate to Lyra from The Golden Compass

are the themes as complex? no, but shit is dire. we need kids to just want to read atp

it's probably not necessary for most kids, no, and I do think there are better options than books that you get the most value out of as an adult with life experiences. no, but I do think there's value in guiding kids through whole, age appropriate books like The Outsiders once they're in high school
