Maybe she wanted them to check her sonar? A kind gentleman brought her to me to check over. After a few good dinners and a test flight, she'll be ready to go back out to the wilds of Scotstoun!

🦇It's October! What are bats up to now?

More mating is taking place, and building up fat reserves is becoming crucial to survive the winter season. Bats will start looking for suitable hibernation sites, and beginning periods of torpor.

Nothing says "idiot" like racists protesting asylum seekers while singing We Are The Champions.
Freddie Mercury (Farrokh Bulsara) came to the UK aged 18 with his family, fleeing the Zanzibar revolution. A young African immigrant. The same demographic these f***wits are saying we shouldn't 'let in'

Babies on board! See the twin bumps in this roundleaf bat's tummy. Although her babies will be almost 1/3 of her body weight at birth, she is increadibly agile and only slows her flight a little. (Photo captured in Kasanka National Park, Zambia last week). 📷🌍🦇😍 #nature #bats #wildlife #photography

🦇 May is here! Bats are fully active and feeding. Females are forming maternity colonies and looking for suitable nursery sites, such as buildings or trees. Males will be roosting on their own or in small groups.

The government’s Land Use consultation is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to intervene in this critical issue. Here’s my response to it. Please feel free to borrow / copy & paste as much as you want. It’s crucial that we engage. www.monbiot.com/2025/03/23/f...

First Sight of Land
For the first time, the government is consulting on a Land Use Framework for England. It’s an important step, but there’s a long way to go.

The #bats are waking up 🦇🦇🦇
🦇 We're getting closer to spring! It is getting warmer and the days are getting longer.

Bats may begin to emerge and signs of limited activity can be seen. There are small numbers feeding as it gets warmer. In bad weather, they may become torpid.

Eat all summer, go to sleep all winter, wake up slim! #bats have got it right 🦇🦇🦇
🦇 January who? February is here already so you can stop wishing people a Happy New Year. #Bats are still hibernating (I'm not jealous, you're jealous) but they have little fat left to live off of now. They may leave the roost on warmer nights to find food and a drink of water, so don't be alarmed

Serotine. One of my favourite #bats! I have a PhD available, using new methods to find serotine roosts and understand movement patterns. Will help to develop a rabies vaccination strategy: a priority for people and bats! Pls share! www.surrey.ac.uk/bbsrc-wessex... @batconservation.bsky.social 🦤🌍🦇
