As the right tries to disassemble public broadcasting, I want to point out that one of the best tools to prevent Germany from slipping back into fascism, post-WW2, has been a robust and well-funded public media organization.

I am renewing my annual call for the NFL to stop being cowards and exclusively hire Weird Al Yankovic to play the Super Bowl halftime show, for as long as he is willing. He could perform as other artists and close his set with a polka digest of Grammy winning songs from that year.

We don’t have any standards on who we’re putting in charge of our government now. And that’s putting stress on the people already there.

Ironic that a South African immigrant is now poised to actually deprive hard-working Americans of the social programs to which they are entitled . I thought conservatives were against that.

As someone who has parented a toddler, I think I have a solution. We make a fake country for him to ruin, give it to him on inauguration day, and by the time anyone in his cabinet realizes, it will be nap time. We keep the real one safe and he gets to feel special.

If someone out there has the ability to do deep fakes, the Internet needs to be inundated with short videos of these cabinet picks casually kissing each other. Just awkwardly and casually enough to be believable. We need to see new ones almost daily for 4 years. MAGAts won't know what to think.

The reason it's so great that The Onion bought info wars is that a great way to harden a culture against extremism is to make it obviously a joke. As in, anybody who acts like this is to be laughed at. We can't afford to legitimize them.
