this sucks!
we have like 18 of these types of podcasts, but this one sounds worse than the rest. at this point left-leaving listeners would be much better served by a program examining historical ideas and individuals who are not actively wishing for their extinction

Roseanne Barr is filming a show apparently called "me-maw" at the combination German club/bowling alley where I am in a league (and where we had our wedding reception) and they went over time, had to film an extra day, and bowling was cancelled yesterday. I am gathering my thoughts.

I think it would be really helpful if everyone posting their very cool takes on the state of music journalism this week would also encourage people to subscribe to worker-owned outlets & support independent writers trying to make new things happen

Thinking about the colds coming to Texas again reminds me of the last, really bad time. I wrote about it in October. the-austin-tadarida.ghost.io/shadow-play/

I met Glenn through DSA, and I'm very glad her papers will now be available at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History for researchers.
"A Force of Nature" - Remembering Glenn Scott
Neither the loudest nor bossiest person in a room, Glenn Scott (1948-2018) did manage to buzz with the most energy. I met her in 2017 when she was already undergoing chemotherapy for the cancer that w...

MTG on the Epstein scandal—"elites doing horrible things and getting away with it"—may have an egalitarian air about it, but only if you fail to read it alongside the rest of her conspiracism. She's talking about the Jews. She's always talking about the Jews. flaminghydra.com/marjorie-tay...

main hopes for 2026 include that the oft-cursed restaurant space near my place finally makes it big with a Mediterranean pivot.

For your pleasure I wrote up the news that apparently the University of Austin is not a great place to work: www.chron.com/culture/arti...

starting a new website related to (mostly) Austin has been a fun challenge. I will be working on it even more, and with more contributors, in 2026.

Always read Abby! I don't have a background in science or marketing, but this post is giving me a lot to think about in terms of both.
