Hey, remember when the Panama Papers were released and they showed how basically every wealthy person on the planet was avoiding taxes by offshoring their money and nothing was done about it except the reporter who broke the story was murdered with a car bomb?

If your response to tragedy is to try and triangulate the way it’s the victim’s fault or their own moral failing, you might be more primed for fascism yourself than you realize

Could the West please decide: Do countries have a right to defend themselves or not? Are civilians near military command centres fair targets or not? Can you bomb hospitals with tunnels under them or not? Is criticizing a country the same as hating a religion or not?

March in Alberta still seems pretty dead and wintry, but there's green out here if you look for it!

Been scouting out some unobserved spots for spring botany walks. Enjoying the prairie views and identifying the remnants of last year's plant populations... but I can't wait until things really get growing again. This spot is on an undeveloped road allowance with great remnant prairie ecology.

51% of Canadians believe the government should approach the United States as a threat or as an enemy. Far fewer now see it as a friend or ally.

Canadians have a less favourable view of the US than India, a country which murdered Canadian citizens on Canadian soil.

MFer I grew up before NAFTA. I didn't have an avocado until I was 15 years old. I ate lunch in a Zellers cafeteria. I thought Robin Hood was just a guy who made flour.

I was made for this moment.
