Insert mode being something you switch to to make changes instead of the default, makes "writing code" a small part of building software, instead of the primary activity. Which is a mindset you inevitably reach after coding long enough anyways.

For my accounting software, the MVP will be a local-first client allowing you to manage nested accounts, double-entry transactions, and balances.

Thanks for sharing maybe.co and akaunting.com! I hadn't heard of maybe. My main gripe with these tools is they need to be self-hosted.

I am building a simpler program you can just download and use right away, like GNUCash, with cloud sync being completely optional.
