I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

See I’d go further than some and say Trans+ still isn’t good enough because, for all their positives, they still make you get a cis person’s permission to transition. It’s not informed consent; it’s just rainbow lanyard paternalism.

It’s also infuriating that the NHS’ response is “we’ve commissioned another review.” Oh yeah, another review by cis people is it? Should I take the review sublingually or inject it? Just give us informed consent like we’ve been saying for decades!

This segregated system isn’t working and is wasting millions. The NHS has been told time and again - informed consent now.
