Unfortunate update: Link reached out to BlueSky and got email back now on reason.

His appeal is denied. He will remain permanently banned on BlueSky’s side.

Here are the screenshots he just sent me as of 8:22 AM EST(my time)

Let me get this straight: Link, a Black user, got banned for calling out the Bluesky CEO for following a racist. That’s not a good look, especially given Bluesky’s historical treatment of Black users here on bluesky.

I appreciate all the people showing love and support to me. I’m so grateful honestly. It means a lot. The ban isn’t that big of a deal for me. I think it was wrong and the explanation was bullshit. But that’s ok and I accept. Social media comes and goes. I’m grateful for all the connections I was able to make and all the people I get to be connected with off Bluesky. More importantly, the world needs more people to give a fuck. More people to give a fuck about Palestinians, more people to give a fuck about disabled folks, more people to give a fuck about our queer and trans siblings, more people to give a fuck about Black liberation. The world, and Bluesky, is full of bootlickers who will do anything to avoid doing anything to upset the status quo. These people are cowards groveling to those in power in hopes of protection. I just hope people continue to show love and care and kindness. Mutual aid is so important. Give when you can, boost when you can. We only survive this together.

I find it very telling when an "ally" makes their allyship conditional. This expectation that they are owed gratitude or deference speaks volumes.

They think our rights are negotiable and that they can revoke them if they no longer feel we "deserve" them.

Suspending Link after he pointed out the how following Jonathan Chait after being accused of transphobia does not allow you to beat the transphobia allegations. In fact, it does the opposite.

To be clear: suspending Link was certainly a choice. And we know what KIND of choice it is.

Yep, and can't forget about Adobe.

$23 a month for Photoshop, $20 a month for Acrobat, $23 for Premiere Pro, $23 for Illustrator. All of these things are industry standards in their respective fields.

Programs that are fine as they are and don't need frequent updates, yet cost a monthly sub.

I subscribe to premium for NO ADS. And now they add EXTRA adds to the free tiers and SOME ADS to the lower tier, so now you gotta pay an arm and a leg to get the no ad versoin.

I felt so gaslit when it first happened because I REMEMBER closing out the app to listen to music or ASMR or whatever and still having it play in the background.

Then it just randomly stopped one day and offered YouTube Premium with background listening as a "feature."
