Train Dreams seems to be a moderately polarizing movie, but I've got to say, I fall on the loved it side.

Was thinking about if Rivers does end playing again there should be an Old Man Logan style parody poster, but then realized that Old Man Rivers is going to probably inspire something else far more annoying.

Between Busta jamming with the turtles at the parade and Eminem popping out at the halftime show, this elder millennial is doing good.

Daughter asked how Thanksgiving started and oh boy did I have this screaming in the back of my head when trying to give a fairly generic answer.

Udo Kier was in some really good movies. Udo Kier was in some really bad movies. But no matter what, he always entertained.

Yoshio Harada in The Hunted might be the most badass I've ever seen someone be in a film.

I think I've figured out one of my problems and that it's too focused on adults which kind of betrays the whole idea from the book of childhood fear manifested as trauma and never leaving, even if you think it has. They get it right sometimes but all the military stuff feels out of place.
Having a hard time jiving with It: Welcome to Derry. Which isnt a good sign considering how much I'll go to bat on the history of Derry interludes in the book.

"it's funny to make these jokes, but has anyone actually called him Bubba before? Or are people just guessing?"

Just imagining doing this with my dead dad. And the moment he's done compiling and pops on the screen, him just staring at the borders of his new reality mumbling "what the fuck, what the fuck is this shit?" Like a Black Mirror episode
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

I remember a @flophousepodcast.com minisode a few months back @dankmccoy.bsky.social hosted about end credit rap songs and most were 80s or early 90s ones. A real product of that time. So I'm howling that the 2005 remake of Assault on Precinct 13 has KRS One doing one.

Currently watching a movie with a pre-Scrubs Sarah Chalke playing a Russian soldier, and it's full Natasha from Rocky & Bullwinkle level.

Having seen it 3 times, the trailer for "Mercy" has one of the most annoying uses of this to date slamming the "Time keeps on slipping" line from "Fly Like an Eagle." Conversely, despite being a movie I have 0 interest in seeing, props to Now You See Me 3, not spaming "Its Tricky" using Run DMC.
Probably the worst trend in movie trailers right now is when using licensed music, isolating one line and just repeating it over and over again to drive home that’s why the song was chosen. I know audiences are dumb, but it’s more annoying than helpful/instructive.

A reminder that I'm a man away from home, we've gotten unseasonably cold weather and wind chills today, and when I referenced it was an appropriate day for the gales of November to two seperate coworkers, I was met with confusion.

On the phone with my wife:
Me: "Oh they're giving out cake"
Her: "well go get some"
Me: "well I was gonna go get my lunchbreak workout in. Hopefully they still have some when I get back."
Her: "grab some, leave it at your desk, and then go workout."
