This is hard. I have zero clue if I want to do reviews on the music, the scores, or just talk about it. In the end, I'm just trying to expand what I listen to and do my best to understand the ins and outs of what gets sent to the top. Mdou Moctar is more of an enigma to me than the rest so far.

But I absolutely love the world Simmons creates, his technicolor vision of the future. The Shrike and the Time Tombs are fully realized conceptions that fascinate me still after completing the two books. And I legitimately am obsessed with the Cruciform and Father Dure's story.

But jeez, there are a lot of individual problems. I loathe the split into two books. Fall, when approached separately, cheapens a number of allegorical narratives and essentially halts all but a few characters' developments. And the Wizard of Oz references at the end of each book are hacked in badly
