Our tour of the newly returned to public view Rolls-Royce Heritage Collection at the fab Aerospace Bristol is now live on YouTube and the podcast feed.

It's a fantastic look at the history of engine development at Bristol and Derby.

It's #WSW2025 and the theme this year is “Living in Space". 👩‍🚀👨‍🚀

In 1991, Helen Sharman became Britain’s first astronaut when she launched to the Mir space station as a research cosmonaut. 🚀🇬🇧

Her mission lasted 8 days, during which time she conducted medical and agricultural experiments. 🌍

the most delightful version of logging on to see what news you've missed
Dr Ramsdell, whose phone had been on airplane mode when the Nobel committee tried to call him, told the BBC's Newshour Programme that his first response when his wife said, "You've won the Nobel prize" was: "I did not."

To which Ms O'Neill replied that she had 200 text messages that suggested he had.

The Truth About Amelia Earhart
Conspiracy theories about her disappearance do a disservice to the pilot’s remarkable, flawed legacy.

As this distraction tactic continues to gain momentum, if you want to know the real story about Amelia Earhart, WHO RAN OUT OF FUEL AND DIED IN THE PACIFIC, join @lauriestories.bsky.social and me as we discuss her research for The Aviator and the Showman.

That is magnanimous of you but it still isn't a good look on him.

That it was such a struggle to get that taken down is a black mark on the person involved.

I was yesterday days old when I learned that David Crosby of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills and Nash fame, is the son of Floyd Crosby, who shot High Noon and Roger Corman's wonderful The Pit and the Pendulum.
Gary Cooper as Marshall Will Kane, wearing a black hat and black vest with a tin star pinned to the front, makes one of his walks down the main street of Hadleyville (Cooper makes 9 nine walks in the film) in 1952's High Noon. Cooper looks both scared and badass at the same time because Gary Cooper was a great actor.

Most of the two-seaters are painted in the colours of the original Mk.IX they are created from, so there is a link there.

Great to see Stephen Chapis' Poor Little Lambs in wild!

It was great to chat with him about his years of work that has gone into the book and you can watch out conversation below.

I gather less than 100 copies remain of the initial print run at Key.

Brilliant! Great to see it in the wild.

Look, I know the 82nd Airborne are bloody good and their epic contributions in the ETO in WW2 are overshadowed because of one company from the other lot, but "parachuted into combat zones in BOTH WORLD WARS..." is a bit of a stretch...

this is wild: while Stephen Miller's guy was in Minnesota for his uncle's funeral, somebody was able to see his entire phone and take pictures of his Signal group chats talking about military deployments to Portland, and brought them to the Strib (gift link: www.startribune.com/trump-offici...)

Oh, man. After reading the article, what it actually says is that an historian did a lot of archival work and spatial research to determine the site of a killing and then the family of the likely perpetrator stepped forward with photographs to confirm identity.
