NA has ~4000 native bee species (plus many other pollinators). Many (probably most) are not generalists and will only visit a handful of plants, ignoring unknown ones.

You can easily find out if a plant is native to your area by googling the genus + “bonap”. The bonap website has maps for every species in the genus showing to the county level of the plant is found there. Look for Bright Green. Blue is bad.
