Really appreciated Sally Paine’s framework in today’s Foreign Affairs interview — Looking at states as continental v maritime powers and their objectives as either limited or not. Looking beyond tactical levels to strategy can rationalize irrational decisions.

My favorite part of Unhedged is the way @robarmstrong.bsky.social pronounces common words. Recent examples: Chipotly, Scott BesSENT, and (today) WAY-guvvy. Perhaps he’s onto something. Have I got these all wrong?
