She/her. PhD candidate. Cat mom. Modern-day Cassandra.
I think Dems tend to be a bit parasocial with their politicians, which makes actual assessment of their failures difficult bc it feels personal. My point is that we should have been demanding more and doing more on all fronts. If we had, I don’t think we would be here now w/Trump.

No, please tell me where I said anything about who I voted for and anything about my plans for the midterms. If you’re going to come in here making baseless claims, back them up with receipts. Oh wait, you can’t.

Yes!! If they ever get rid of DST I will riot. It’s bad enough that it’s cold and everything outside is dormant; early darkness is just salt in the wound.

Crockett takes Israel lobby money and votes accordingly. Sadly, I wouldn’t count on her to take you up on this.

Gotta maintain revolutionary optimism, man. The doomerism is literally the least helpful thing you can do. The world can be better. We make our own destiny. Get out there and be part of your local community. Or keep your weird determinism to yourself.

I think some of us sadly got too comfortable in the Obama years thinking progress was just inevitable, that we could sit back and let the govt handle it all, that voters would just increasingly move left as demographics changed. Turns out progress takes effort. Constant effort.

This is the way. Even some of the most revolutionary figures (good and bad) knew that engaging the political system is a worthwhile front in a much larger battle. The point is to understand that voting is not where politics ends but is the bare minimum. Vote and organize. Even when things are good.

It’s fine, I think we need to have near-infinite grace on these things and not fight over silly things, but it is still really frustrating to see.
