What about Hive? Is that popping off yet? I liked it for the day I was on there.

There’s a domino meme you can make where CM Punk putting Jungle Jack in the pillars eventually leads to their fight and Punk’s eventual firing.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
That four pillars four way did a lot to fuck up 3 of the 4 people involved in the match. Only Darby seemed to come out of it okay.

I had a framed poster of Doc Gooden hanging over my bed as a kid. Doc was the man.

15000 days ago (Sept 12, 1984), Mets P Dwight Gooden strikes out 16 Pirates, bringing his season total to 251 whiffs and breaking Herb Score’s MLB record for rookies.

For the younger people here, pre-shoulder injury Gooden was otherworldly. It was must-watch TV when he pitched.

I do, and I remember not giving a fuck about it lol

Can confirm that’s a damn good sandwich. I wanted to go there anyway when I was in Chicago two years ago, then a friend who was local completely independently offered to bring me there before we went to a wrestling show together.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
I was at that one too! One of two I’ve attended live, the other being Game 4 of the 2000 NLDS, Bobby Jones’ one-hitter against the Giants.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
I know Mets fans choose to remember Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS but there wouldn’t have even been a Game 7 without his 2-run homer in Game 1 of that series that they won 2-0.

Tom Glavine also threw 7 shutout innings in that game but I choose to forget that after Game 162 of the 2007 season.

David Stearns knew him better than anyone and didn’t seem to push that hard to bring him with him to New York.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
Either the Dodgers/Phillies or Brewers/Cubs game needed to start at 4, and the other game at 7. Starting these games at 6 and 9 is terrible.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
Even the Nets, a national embarrassment, have somehow won 8 conference finals games this century!

I bet this is killing on LibrarySky. Gotta get my wife’s opinion on it.

And none of them know how it works either

There’s a lot of anger that needs to subside first, not just because he got screwed but also over Owen. I can see him doing one last run from 2007-2010.

Bret/Angle happens for sure, but the match I want to see most is Bret/Cena. I think that would have been a hoot.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
Bill Simmons complaining about FloSports and Cousin Sal seemingly knowing something about FloSlam existing is a very surprisingly 2018 way to start the day.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
We probably get a Bret/Danielson match in ROH, which is good but probably a little disappointing. His eventual WWE return is probably less sad because he’s able to do more. Probably is completely out no later than 2010.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
I think he sits around and collects his buyout for a year until he ends up in early TNA, but probably doesn’t stick around under Russo for too long. He almost definitely ends up taking a few Hustle bookings, which would have been weird.
cecilmiller.bsky.social
Thinking about Bret Hart. Assuming the Goldberg kick doesn't happen, and WCW still closes the way it does. How does his career finish if he is in control of his own destiny?

thechriswilcox.bsky.social
I guess to your point, if they haven’t played the Yankees in a playoff series since the early 90s teams, he’d have no reason to go there since they haven’t made the World Series since then.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
Brewers are pretty high up there for me. Mets have done them dirty more times than they’ve done us dirty. They’ve never won a title, had a team leave town once, and they have a cool logo. I’d be fine if they won a title, almost happy even.

I haven’t been to Rogers Centre since Wrestlemania X8, and I had somehow been there more recently than Jon Heyman, New York baseball reporter. Did he have a felony conviction expunged recently or something?
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
The NL in general was not set up well this year with the Phillies, Dodgers, and Cubs. Reseeding one of those shitbirds to the AL would have made things a lot better.
thechriswilcox.bsky.social
How is this even possible? He’s been covering both New York teams this entire time!

Rogers Centre is beautiful. A belated congrats for all the improvements (I hadn't been here since Joe Carter). Also: It's the one stadium with good food in the press room
