If you're not in Minneapolis, there's a whole lot of other Neighborhood Networks you can sign up with; DM me if you are on Signal, and don't know how to find them. If your area doesn't have a group organizing this stuff, Defend612 has resources on how to start:

What are you trying? Is it posting?

about the ineffectiveness of moderate liberals but every year republican losers don’t have power is an opportunity to make things better, including the Democratic Party. They get more regressive when they lose and just conclude the country wants them to move right.

Trump wins in 2020 we have a fully captured federal judiciary with all the appointments he would have gotten to make, a 8-2 Supreme Court, Russia owns more of Ukraine, none of the climate and power grid investments happen, Covid mismanagement probably kills thousands more. I get what you’re saying
January 16, 2026 at 11:00 PM
The argument has been narrowed from my initial complaint. “Trump probably wouldn’t have seen prison time for J6” is less offensive to me than believing that denying him a victory in 2024 wouldn’t have set him and the conservative movement back significantly. Same with 2020. elections do matter

to protect him
January 16, 2026 at 7:29 PM
I think those are reasonable points but I think a full federal case about the overthrow of the government was uniquely egregious that it overcame enough of the norms and elite protection impulses. And I think we could have seen actual consequences if he lost and the institutions had less incentive

get on board with my exact policy and ideological preferences

change is as likely to succeed as or even happen without playing that same game. Sometimes we should demand ICE be abolished and sometimes we should plug our nose and vote for Kamala Harris. Lotta coalitions in this country to joust with and just refusing to engage and waiting for everyone else to
January 16, 2026 at 7:25 PM
I don’t actually believe that. Systems sometimes succeed and they sometimes fail. They can be corrupted, be poorly administrated, be captured, have their intentions change. Conservatives are willing to play that game and engage with systems as they are. I don’t think demanding instant revolutionary
January 16, 2026 at 7:25 PM
Idk what you want from me man.

“What about this time systems and people failed”

Yeah we should address that

“What about this other time”

Yeah we should address that

“What about…”

Forever into infinity

You’re so cool and smart, enjoy the deadender lifestyle I guess
January 16, 2026 at 7:12 PM
That is a fixable structural problem that has solutions in electoral politics and outside of electoral politics. Also yeah nobody even tried to go after those people with existing systems. More evidence it was kinda remarkable Trump faced as much prosecution as he did
January 16, 2026 at 7:11 PM
You guys don’t draw conclusions you just kinda stew in cynicism and develop smug attitudes so that the most basic conclusions like “trump would be hurt by losing in 2020” read as naivety.
January 16, 2026 at 7:07 PM
I don’t think saying that it would have been bad for Trump to lose is some glossy eyed lib hallucination.
January 16, 2026 at 7:05 PM
Yeah that’s bad
January 16, 2026 at 7:00 PM
Good talk 👍
January 16, 2026 at 7:00 PM
This isn’t a prophecy, it’s a meme about repeated institutional and social failures to hold Trump accountable. Those failures don’t get fixed by conceding in advance that electoralism is useless and doom posting about someone else firebombing the Walmarts.
January 16, 2026 at 7:00 PM
The court did not make him immune from prosecution forever, that is not a thing that happened. They sabotaged the case by creating limitations for what evidence was allowed to be used. Which was immediately adjusted to and resubmitted. The goal was to delay
January 16, 2026 at 6:57 PM
I think that a defeated president trump is far less likely to be defended forever by the Supreme Court and conservative institutions, most of his cases were scheduled for the months after the election, his lawyers were morons, and he was being tried in the courts that aren’t captured.
January 16, 2026 at 6:51 PM
Personally I think it would have been bad for Donald Trump to have multiple federal, state, and civil cases against him while not being the president. He didn’t seem very happy about it while it was happening.
January 16, 2026 at 6:42 PM
People don’t actually believe things like this.
January 16, 2026 at 6:37 PM
Trump was being prosecuted by the justice department in 2020. Like that was a thing happening under a democratic administration regardless of their reluctance and feet dragging. The quality of Dems is not relevant to my argument
