I finally broke down and stole one of my dad's cigarette's. I told myself I'd NEVER smoke one, but I really, really needed *something* and that was the only thing I could find. Things are bad, folks. It didn't taste good, and it didn't feel good, but it helped.

Put on Sleep's album Dopesmoker about fifteen, twenty minutes ago. Think I got a contact high just from listening to it, I'm definitely a bit foggier than I was when I put it on.

The Animals were not the original writers of House of the Rising Sun, and that song is in fact older than recording technology. Nobody knows who the original writer was, but my personal favorite version is Dave Van Ronk's, which Bob Dylan later borrowed (the same arrangement, not just the song)
