This is a stark departure from common practice in journalism. Looks like an attempt to punish AOC for having the temerity to talk overseas. If the NY Times quoted everyone like this – not cleaning up stammers, repeated words and "um" – its quotations would look much different. They'd be a mess.

Reminder that Trump suggested eliminating FEMA entirely a year ago with a replacement of the executive having exclusive authority to dispense emergency funds as he sees fit to the states that "deserve" it.

I dont think Rocket money is the answer but I have 100% sat down with poor friends - can't afford health care or daycare, late on rent every month, etc - and helped them find the unused/forgotten subscriptions in their bank statements. Lots of people scared to look *because* they don't have enough

I think it’s for people with executive functioning problems. I agree poor people know what things cost. But some of us also have deep stacks of things we’re afraid to look at because of shame or lack of capacity. And cancelling something can be many steps.
