Because this simply doesn't really happen, every coroner will tell you this.
This finding is, at the very least, a strong indication that Mary Kennedy did not place the noose herself, but it was forced on her and she fought against it.

The autopsy showed Mary Kennedy, then going through a messy divorce with estranged husband RFK Jr., had her fingers between her neck and the noose, as if having second thoughts.
